The re-run election consists of 28 Federal and State Constituencies broken down into One (1) Senatorial District, Twelve (12) House of Representatives and Fifteen (15) State Assemblies.

The Central bank of Nigeria has voted that monetary policy rate, which measures interest rate to retain its status quo at 13.5 % for the first quarter of the year. The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate Senator Godswill Akpabio has withdrawn from the rerun elections in Essien Udim LGA of Akwa Ibom state. In a press conference on Friday at the party’s secretariat in Uyo, the state Chairman of the party, Mr Ini Okopido, stated that the APC was withdrawing due to a perceived bias of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
