The new Governor of Oyo State, southwest Nigeria, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, May 29, informed all the workers not to expect the new minimum wage any time soon.
Naija News learnt that Mr Makinde made his decision known while giving his inauguration speech after being sworn-in to take the reins as Governor of the state. He also said he would reduce the government overheads while increasing the efficiency in tax collection.
The newly sworn-in governor also promised to take total control of the state technical university (LAUTECH).
Meanwhile, the inauguration speech has been welcomed from several Nigerians with several reactions to some of his agendum for the next four years. Here are the reaction as follows

By cancelling all tuition fees for student in Oyo State public schools,Seyi Makinde @seyiamakinde has just reduced the number of 'out of school' children in Oyo State by 90%.
The major reason why many of these children left school was because their parent couldn't pay the fees.

Seems a lot of eyes will be fixed at Oyo State, and what the new governor Seyi Makinde has to offer.
A state I admired because of Ogbomosho mango, and the infamous constituted authority slogan.
As he is held to account, I wish him all the best.
