Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has said it apprehended no fewer than two hundred and eighty-seven suspected rapists in the last year.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, January 7, the state Police Spokesman, Gambo Isah, noted that the command had received about that 236 rape cases.
According to him, most of the reported cases involved victims between three years of age and 14 years of age. Isah stressed that cultism, drug abuse and viewing phonographic pictures and videos by rapists were some of the factors that influence rape.
The police spokesman, however, encouraged parents to watch their children closely, giving them a proper upbringing.
Meanwhile, residents of Eleme junction in Rivers State were on Wednesday, January 6 left in confusion as two old aged persons slumped and died at close range, Naija News reports.
