Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has asked all its officers to ensure compliance on all COVID-19 protocols issued made available by the government and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The security operatives were in a statement made available by the State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, on Thursday, December 31 directed to enforce the 12 am to 4 am curfew and also ensure the total closure of night clubs, bars, lounges, event centres, amongst others.
Naija News understands that the directive was contained in the statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi today.
The directive was coming at a time when churches have adjusted their plans for December 31 to January 1 crossover services on the night.
“The Commissioner of Police reiterated that they must enforce the use of face mask regularly at public places (markets/malls), social distancing, total closure of night clubs, bars, lounges, event centres, no social party, street carnivals, use of infra-red thermometers to check body temperature, hand sanitisers and enforcement of the imposed curfew between 12 midnight and 4am,” the statement reads.
“All Area Commanders and DPOs must ensure such due enforcement in their various offices across the command; noting that COVID-19 is real and we must do everything possible within our reach to halt its spread.”
